Since I just showed you my most perfect Vintage Store score ever, I thought I would share one that I'm still bummed about having to pass up.
In this unassuming little black box...
A singer featherweight. It was gorgeous, in beautiful condition, with tons of accessories. I really, really wanted it! And I did the fiscally responsible thing and walked away. Some day I won't be a graduate student and I can justify a splurge like this. But not right now.
But if anyone in my life were to want to surprise me with a little black box carrying such a beauty, I wouldn't mind the surprise!
I did end up buying this sweet little vintage hat. The label says
"Gene Doris, New York." I'm not very knowledgeable about dating hats and
I found examples online of the same label dated from the 1930's to
1980's. Does anyone have a guess as to its vintage?
What a cool find! I tool hope that one day you will own a vintage sewing machine just like that!
