Inspiration: Lace Doilies

I'm seeing lace doilies everywhere these days, on the internet and in real life. I love them. Apparently, so do a lot of people! Some of the uses I find most inspiring:

Sewn together as a table runner

As the top layer of a dress

Starched into a decorative bowl

 Made gigantic as a throw rug

I think this is what I aspire to be!
