Inspiration: Blood Splatter

Maybe I've been watching too much Dexter...but I love the contrast between matte and shine, the way the red punches in contrast to the muted teal and white, the random distribution of the splatter.

Now how do I use these design elements to make a dress without making the wearer look like a sloppy serial killer?
